This means that with the right hardware, you can use the G903 indefinitely without ever having to plug it in. Beyond that, the mouse is also gorgeous and comfortable, from its sleek black chassis, to its swappable side button. That means that the G903 is fully ambidextrous, as well as fully programmable, thanks to excellent software options.

#2 Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

The Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum comes about as close as possible to the perfect gaming mouse. This device has a distinctive design, comfortable textured grips and 11 easily accessible, programmable buttons. Thanks to its tunable weights, adjustable scroll wheel and powerful software, the G502 plays nicely with any genre you can throw at it.

With Logitech’s powerful software and the G502’s built-in RGB lighting, you can also optimize and customize the gadget for all of your favorite games. The device’s angular aesthetics won’t be to everyone’s taste, but beyond that, it’s hard to think of any area in which the G502 doesn’t fully deliver.

#3 SteelSeries Rival 710

When it comes to the best gaming mice, features, balance and performance are all there in equal measure in the SteelSeries Rival 710, which easily tops our list.

This heavyweight gaming mouse might be a bit expensive, but when you weigh that price tag against the customizable OLED display, haptic feedback – great for you MOBA players – and excellent build quality, the SteelSeries Rival 710 is easily worth the price and more. The kicker? Everything is modular, even down to the sensor, so you never have to feel like you’re missing out on the latest tech.

#4 Corsair Harpoon RGB Wireless

In our humble opinion, the best gaming mice are always going to be the ones that deliver excellent performance at a price that won’t burn a massive hole in your pocket. And, the Corsair Harpoon RGB Wireless is the poster child for price-to-performance ratio.

here you’re getting a wireless mouse that doesn’t suck, has RGB lighting and touts a long battery life. The ergonomics are specifically for right-handed users, but at this price and with this level of performance, there’s little to complain about. 

#5 Razer Deathadder Elite

The Razer Deathadder is one of the most pleasantly shaped non-ergonomic mice available. It fits the hand and is suitable for any grip style, whether you’re a palm or grip adherent. Even better, it packs an extremely precise 16,000 CPI sensor that I’ve never encountered tracking issues with, the PMW-3389 from Pixart. It’s also got an extremely high 450 IPS rating, so feel free to fling it across your mousing surface at speed. 

While it’s not bristling with additional buttons, the two generously sized thumb buttons are well placed and distinct, so you needn’t worry about accidentally actuating the wrong one in the middle of a heated firefight in Rage 2. It’s a fairly simple, understated pointer that’s focused more on quality and performance than overblown RGB lighting or gimmicks.

#6 ROCCAT Kova

Fear not, lefties, for there is a great, very affordable option in ambidextrous gaming mice. The ROCCAT Kova is comfortable, accurate and very capable, thanks to its unique “Smart Cast” buttons that flank each primary button for easy access. The Kova also employs ROCCAT’s “Easy-Shift+” tech, which allows users to assign both primary and secondary functions to each of the 10 programmable buttons.

The main issue with the Kova has nothing to do with its hardware, but rather its convoluted software suite, Swarm. As with Synapse and Logitech Gaming Software, Swarm allows the user to customize the Kova’s LED colors, button layout and sensor resolution. Unfortunately, Swarm’s UI is less intuitive than the competition’s and can be annoying to work with, due to confusingly labeled menu options and limited slots for game-specific profiles. 

There’s also no visual indicator on the Kova for which of your presets is active, and since the CPI toggle cycles through presets instead of allowing you to increase/decrease at will, it can be inconvenient to find exactly what you’re looking for. Beyond these shortcomings, however, the Kova is an excellent option for anyone in need of an affordable, ambidextrous gaming mouse. 

#7 HyperX Pulsefire Surge

If you find yourself snickering at some of the ridiculous-looking gaming mice available in 2019, you should take a look at the HyperX Pulsefire Surge RGB. Featuring extremely reliable Omron switches and stunning RGB lighting – not to mention an incredible 16,000 DPI sensor – you’re scoring one of the best gaming mice for an excellent price. Plus, it’ll fit into any office, at least once you turn down the lighting effects. 

We’ve given the Roccat Kova Aimo high scores for solid build quality, customizability and great gaming performance that gets even better after some tweaking in the Roccat Swarm software. It’s white version looks uncannily like those scary robots from iRobot, but the solid black one is smart-looking and will definitely fit any set-up. LED light fans might find it wanting in terms, but this gaming mouse’s ambidexterity more than makes for its very minimal flaws. All things considered, it’s one of the best gaming mice we’ve tested this 2019 so far.

#8 Cooler Master MasterMouse MM520

If you need one of the best gaming mice, but are looking to save some cash at the same time – the Cooler Master MasterMouse MM520 might be an ideal option and a terrific addition to your gaming set-up. It won’t win any beauty contests, but packing quality Omron switches and a reasonably sensitive sensor capable of up to 12,000 DPI makes it a great value, which in turn makes it’s easy to look past the unappealing design – especially if you use a claw grip.
